Welcome!

There are people using and developing with Liferay everywhere, and that means that even though there are many different scenarios addressed and solutions built with Liferay, there is a good chance that you are facing similar challenges to those experienced by others.

Helping others encourages them to help others in turn (probably even you in the future), and that builds a greater and stronger community.

However you share information, please take care with your tone, and be respectful with others, taking into account that you are interacting with people from all over the world with different cultures and habits.

Getting Started

There are several ways to participate in ongoing conversations: Discuss, Blog Posts and User Groups.

Depending on your case, you may want to share your experience with the rest of our community.

Discuss

Discuss is organized into categories for the different types of questions that you might want to ask. But, before asking a question always try to do a search to find if someone already posted a similar case to yours, maybe it’s even solved already!

Liferay Ask, the previous message board, is now entirely read-only - no new topics, no replies, no comments. As soon as Discuss is populated with enough content to cover community questions the Ask data will be removed entirely.

Blog Posts

Have you developed an interesting customization with Liferay? Maybe you have found a better alternative to what’s documented to do something? You have a trick or workaround to some usual task? Or perhaps you just want to share some experience that could be useful for others? Write about it!

Just head to the Liferay Blog page and look for the “New Entry” button at the top of the page.

You can save a draft of your article and come back to review it as many times as you like. Once you are done, submit it for publication and we will receive a notification and reveiw it and then it will be available for everyone.

Liferay User Groups

If you want to break the digital and remote walls and de-virtualize some of the faces behind Discuss or Blog post authors, consider looking for a Liferay User Group meetup near you, and join them in any of the periodic meetups.

Or, if you know there is a good bunch of developers working with Liferay in your area, you could also consider creating a new group. Reach out to us on Slack and we will be glad to help you to get it started.
