It has been 7 years since the beginning of this second season of the LUGSpain community and four since the last article we published reviewing the year. We think it is a long time and we have to get back into the habit to see if we are going where the community wants us to go.

This year we have done 9 sessions:

• “Customizing the import of Liferay document manager elements” by Carlos Durán and ‘Exporting/importing Liferay content with the Headless API’ by David Gómez (Meetup y YouTube) .
• “Liferay and SEO: an alliance for success” by Salvador Comes and Adrián Jiménez (Meetup y YouTube).
• “AI with Liferay DXP: Unleashing the Transformational Power for Web Experiences and Content Leaders” by Javier Lora Peribáñez and Daniel Rubio Carbajal (Meetup y YouTube)..
• “Gutting the Liferay Page Editor” by Pablo Molina (Meetup y YouTube).
• “Tips and Tricks with Fragments, Part 2” by Daniel de Francisco (Meetup y YouTube).
• The importance of Universal Accessibility and Inclusive Design as Product principles, make it happen! - Marcos Castro(Meetup y YouTube).
• Microservices in Liferay SaaS with Objects and Salesforce Marketing Cloud - Jesús Blasco (Meetup y YouTube).
• API Builder: applying no-code / low-code philosophy to build APIs - Beni Herrero (Meetup y YouTube).
• Definition, use and management of Publications - Jesús Blasco (Meetup y YouTube).

There have been 11 speakers and only 4 from Liferay, we are very happy for the participation of the community.

And also a session has been done  outside the Liferay office in Madrid, doing one again in Asturias! Thanks to Javier Lora and Daniel Rubio.

One of the achievements of this year has been to have planned the sessions with more time (all recognition to Isabel), which has helped both speakers and organizers, since having planned the sessions with more time we have been able to:

• Create a Linkedin account with which we have been able to have a more direct and closer communication (we have grown to 868 contacts, impressive!) Isaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
• Update the image, with new t-shirts and stickers (with a t-shirt as a gift to Brian Chan).
• Participate in other events such as QA Month and the Community Builder initiative. 
• The web at liferay.dev (we have to activate and improve it, it is one of the goals for next year).

But the two things that have made me happiest have been:

• Seeing people again in person and getting together at the meetups. After the pandemic the sessions were with the people who gave the talk and organizers, but this year the attendance has settled and we are seeing the same faces (even some people coming from Avila).
• The organizers have been active in the organization, generating meetups, ideas, etc. which helps to make it a more independent community. Thank you very much Jesús, Carlos and Antonio. 

And to close, to think about next year, so that every little step we take will take us to our goals.
