Howdy folks, time for another community roundup.. It's been an action-packed couple of weeks at Liferay. The first month of 2011 is almost over, and we're chugging along nicely. Lots of items to mention, plus some upcoming events and community programs to discuss.
- Don't miss this week's Liferay LIVE on OpenSocial and Liferay. Paul Hinz will present new ideas for a more social Liferay. Register and watch for free!
- Speaking of LIVE, Bryan Cheung and Paul Hinz did a presentation today on Liferay in 2010 and 2011. New items to watch for in 2011 include the Liferay Marketplace, a renewed emphasis on our community's leadership, and a new release of Liferay Portal (6.1). Replays will be available soon.
- Hopefully you have noticed the new Liferay Community landing page by now! We flipped the switch last week, so please check it out. Couple of poll results: 67% of you interact with the Liferay Community daily (24% weekly, 5% monthly, 3% rarely). On the IDEs you use: 38% use Liferay IDE (29% straight Eclipse, 16% IntelliJ IDEA, 6% NetBeans, and 10% just use a text editor (bold move!)). Next up, a question about community improvements. Be sure to vote!
- Liferay Symposiums are coming to a city near you in 2011! The first one out of the gate will be the East Coast Symposium in Washington, D.C., happening in May. This year, we are opening up the sessions to the entire community! The Call for Participation has been officially announced. Submissions are due March 10, 2011. So get cracking!
- Gordon writes about The Utah Department of Workforce Services using Liferay and Vaadin, with over 48k users signed on since November 2010.
- Alexey writes about Liferay's CMIS support. Good news: In Liferay 6.1, as part of the Document Library improvements, you will see expanded CMIS support to take care of the issues Alexey mentions!
- The new theme for the Liferay Control Panel is in and looking good!
- Manage your Vaadin add-ons through the Liferay Control Panel Vaadin plugin!
- 1 week left to get your votes in for the first round of the 100 PaperCuts program! Next week we'll select the winning tickets and then the real fun begins.

- As part of our renewed emphasis on community, the most recent Liferay Pulse Newsletter went out today. If you have a liferay.com account (with a correct email address) it should be in your inbox. It contains some highlights and information about upcoming events, activities, and other items of interest.
That is all for now. As my friend Mahipal likes to say, "Enjoy Your Day!"
