Liferay 6.2 startup slow

Does anybody have any idea what Liferay is doing during early startup that could take several minutes.
We have Liferay 6.2 EE running tomcat and startup by it self takes over 5 minutes.

From the logs I see that 3 minutes is lost between these two lines:

2016-12-09 06:45:44,897 INFO  [localhost-startStop-1][spring.hibernate.DialectDetector] Found dialect org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle10gDialect
2016-12-09 06:48:49,159 INFO  [localhost-startStop-1][portal.events.StartupAction] The following patches are installed: portal-103-6210

I have not digged into the code just yet to see what is actually happening but wondered if someone might have done so previously. To me it seems like it might do some remote calls that end in a (rather long) timeout.

As you are using 6.2 EE, please open a support ticket. That's what you have the support for
