Hi,

I came across a situation where I need to isolate liferay portal and liferay WCM to utilize different databases. Is this possible with liferay. Do we have any succeeded in implementing the same.

No, not going to be possible. The liferay data tends to be tightly coupled (keys pointing back and forth, etc) so they are going to be difficult if not impossible to tear apart.
