San Francisco 311 is looking for a talented and dynamic Java developer to help create and maintain a fresh and intuitive web presence for the department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to learn new technologies quickly and is excited about enhancing and developing new innovative solutions in mobile and enterprise systems.

Essential functions of the job include:

  • Develop custom external and internal facing web applications by using responsive web design, web services, Java/Javascript and HTML5

  • Work closely with Business Analysts to gather requirements and develop web applications using Liferay J2EE Portal Framework, Spring , and Hibernate technologies
  • Support and monitor Apache HTTP, Liferay J2EE Portal application infrastructure, and maintain the health of the application server environment
  • Provide day-to-day support by fixing bugs, and implementing functional and technical enhancements
  • Provide analytics and metrics to improve the end user experience and increase the adoption of external facing web sites
  • Support and interact with users and staff on various work-related issues
  • Maintain the data and operational integrity of systems
  • Perform feasibility analysis, technology and software assessment
  • Maintain detailed project plans and schedules
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
