Hi everybody!

We've just released Valamis 1.6 to Liferay Marketplace!

We're also working with Liferay 6.2 support. It's going to be released in the next minor version update in (hopefully) next few weeks. Yes, and Liferay Marketplace eCommerce is coming! We will do our best that Valamis Enterprise Edition will be available for purchase amongst the first apps when this happens. With Enterprise Edition you will get version updates and support also for previous Liferay versions (CE will support always only the newest Liferay). Of course EE subscribers will support our Valamis development efforts and allow us to make it the best eLearning application available anywhere.

New version implements full Experience API (formerly known as Tin Can API) Learning Record Store (LRS). We will be providing some more documentation and videos about possibilities of full Tin Can API implementation. This is actually the first enterprise grade open source Learning Record Store implementation out there (we actually released few days before Learning Locker team ;)).

Here's some articles, which should give you idea what xAPI enables you to do emoticon

Experience API resources (formerly known as Tin Can API):

Good starting point for practical summary of xAPI
Introduction about xAPI Learning Record Store
ADLnet's standardization resources for xAPI
Early article about xAPI implications for eLearning
Why xAPI is important for Instructial Designers by eLearn Magazine (ACM)
xAPI training and work performance example
Connecting MOOC with LRS
Saving learning experiences with xAPI
Presentation about Tin Can API and Open Badges
Open Badges, xAPI and e-Portfolios

Last article for now is Top 9 eLearning technology predicitions for 2014 . This is very fitting description, because all these 9 points are in our focus right now with Valamis!
