how to dynamically change the portlet content using Ajax (ex. onclick of like replace by Dislike ) and database update?

Many frameworks include this kind of stuff automagically. AUI has some support for AJAX in portlets, but there are other frameworks (such as Vaadin) that make using AJAX in a portlet a breeze (and in Vaadin's case, transparent).
