Liferay 7.1- Navigation Menu Not displaying

Hi,

Liferay has done the amazing changes with lot of features from older versions to DXP.  But it gives more complexsity for the experienced people also i guess. Ok Let's swim in the flow of river.  But once we understood the concept, it will be easy for development i guess.

Here our problem is, After starting Liferay 7.1 GA1, we are playing around the portal for creating sites and pages. But after creating the pages for the particular site, it is not displaying immediately. our question is,

1. Should we add the navigation menu portlet in all the pages to display the pages?

2. Deault Classic theme should have included navigation portlet by default i guess? or shoud we add manually?

thanks in advance.

To answer both at the same time:

When you create the pages, there's a checkbox to automatically add them to the default navigation menu.

This (or any other) menu that you'd like to be shown on every page will need to be displayed on every page. The classic theme does this by default, with the "Default" Navigation Menu.

Do you happen to have a cluster? I'm seeing "not proper refreshment" (e.g. it will happen a lot later) with improperly set up clusters.

Otherwise, can you specify "not refreshed properly"? When you look at the Default Navigation Menu from the Control Panel / Site Content page administration: Does it contain the page in question? When you create it there, will it reflect in the site's navigation?

I am trying in local environment, not in cluster. when i created the menu from control panel for new site, it is not reflected immediately. Then after refresh the page, it appears, i know it is a stranger behaviour . I will try to reproduce it again and share the details if i face the issue again.

Thanks

If  navigation menu portlet is visible in your page, go to the configuration of navigation menu portlet --> setup --> select navigation -->  choose  primary navigation  hopefully it will show all the menu.
If you want to show only private pages add it to default private then it will show only your selected pages in menu with private navigation

Thanks
