At the time of this writing and the release of the aforementioned versions, there are no significant differences between the source files of the master (5.3.x), 5.2.x, and 5.1.x branches. The main purpose of having three branches is for the convenience of testing with three different versions of the Spring Framework.

Web Flow

Thanks to the heroic work of Liferay's Fabian Bouché, we have adopted the portlet-related source that was pruned from the Spring Web Flow project. The code is found in a separate com.liferay.portletmvc4spring.webflow.jar artifact and there is a Web Flow version of the Applicant portlet demo as well. Thanks Fabian!

Download Statistics

As shown in the download stats graph above, the PortletMVC4Spring project is enjoying great adoption by developers! There has been an increasing trend over the past year which is very encouraging!

The breakdown for the framework and security jars reflects the same trend. With close to 2,000 downloads/month of the framework jar, we can be sure that there are A LOT of Spring MVC portlets out there:

Many thanks to all in our community for using PortletMVC4Spring.

Enjoy!
