Download options

Liferay Portal and Liferay Commerce share the same Bundle and Docker image.  To get started using either Liferay Portal or Liferay Commerce, choose the best download option suited for your environment below.

Docker image

To use Liferay Portal 7.4 GA26:

docker run -it -p 8080:8080 liferay/portal:7.4.3.26-ga26

For more information on using the official Liferay docker image see the liferay/portal repo on Docker Hub.

Bundles and other download options

If you are used to binary releases, you can find the Liferay Portal 7.4 GA26 and Liferay Commerce 4.0 GA26 release on the download page.  If you need additional files (for example, the source code, or dependency libraries), visit the release page.

Dependency Management

For development using the Liferay Platform, update Liferay Workspace to use the  latest dependencies, by adding the following line to the build.gradle file:

dependencies {
	compileOnly group: "com.liferay.portal", name: "release.portal.api"
}

All portal dependencies are now defined with a single declaration. When using an IDE such as Eclipse or IntelliJ all apis are immediately available in autocomplete for immediate use.

By setting a product info key property it will be possible to update all dependencies to a new version by updating the liferay.workspace.product property in the liferay workspace projects gradle.property file:

liferay.workspace.product = portal-7.4-ga26

When using an IDE such as Eclipse or IntelliJ all apis are immediately available in autocomplete for immediate use.

Features

Experience Building

Dynamic Navigation Menus: automatic addition of entries for categories under a Vocabulary

As complex navigation menus are difficult to maintain, we have added the capability for users to automatically feed them with the categories under vocabularies. Users only have to add a specific vocabulary to a navigation menu and then all the new categories created in the vocabulary will be automatically added to that menu. As an additional feature, now users will be able to preview the menu while creating it.

Was necessary to make a few technical adjustments to the use of Groovy Scripts in the features of Data Validations and Actions to work in the same way in both places.

Delete a Published Objects and Relationship

Now Admin-Users are able to delete an Objects and also delete a Relationship of an Object after publishing it.
With this change will be possible for users to make changes to Objects structures after a publication, and bring new manners to work with object structures.

Translations

Import/export multiple translations for web content and pages in the same request

To help content managers manage the translations of their content, now it is possible to perform the actions in bulk, being able to export or import translations for multiple elements in the same request.

In the case of using experiences for pages, when multiple pages are selected, it’ll be possible to choose between exporting only the default experiences or all experiences for each page selected

In case of needing to export only specific experiences, the export operation will be for that specific page.

Additionally, the error management has been improved, helping you identify in which zip file the error is included as well as being able to download an error report to audit at any moment
