Bundles and other download options

If you are used to binary releases, you can find the Liferay Portal 7.4 GA12 and Liferay Commerce 4.0 GA12 release on the download page.  If you need additional files (for example, the source code, or dependency libraries), visit the release page.

Dependency Management

For development using the Liferay Platform, update Liferay Workspace to use the  latest dependencies, by adding the following line to the build.gradle file:

dependencies {
	compileOnly group: "com.liferay.portal", name: "release.portal.api"
}

All portal dependencies are now defined with a single declaration. When using an IDE such as Eclipse or IntelliJ all apis are immediately available in autocomplete for immediate use.

By setting a product info key property it will be possible to update all dependencies to a new version by updating the liferay.workspace.product property in the liferay workspace projects gradle.property file:

liferay.workspace.product = portal-7.4-ga12

When using an IDE such as Eclipse or IntelliJ all apis are immediately available in autocomplete for immediate use.

Features

Forms

As a form admin, I want to be able to request datetime from my users

New field type in forms that allows users to request date and time from their users. For any use case that requires a more accurate definition of time, from scheduling slots in agendas to order status updates in commerce.

https://issues.liferay.com/browse/LPS-143050

Definition of validations to my date field type with other date fields in the form as parameter

Validation for date fields, allowing users to create and configure their date fields using other date fields as parameter. Allowing customers to validate dates with data that the user just inputed in the form they are filling, as traveling dates, where returning date can not be before the customer departure’s date for example.

https://issues.liferay.com/browse/LPS-132811

Objects

Creation of an one-to-many relationship between Native (System) and Custom Objects

Many use cases requires users to create relationship between their custom objects with native entities of the portal. One of those use cases, even being a internal use case, is to be able to add attachments (or upload files) in custom object entries. Those files must be saved and organized in the standard repository of Liferay, so they can follow Liferay patterns and rules as accepted file types, file size limit and so on.
