Download options

Liferay Portal and Liferay Commerce share the same Bundle and Docker image.  To get started using either Liferay Portal or Liferay Commerce, choose the best download option suited for your environment below.

Docker image

To use Liferay Portal 7.4 GA78:

docker run -it -p 8080:8080 liferay/portal:7.4.3.78-ga78

Bundles and other download options

If you are used to binary releases, you can find the Liferay Portal 7.4 GA78 and Liferay Commerce 4.0 GA78 release on the download page.  If you need additional files (for example, the source code, or dependency libraries), visit the release page.

Dependency Management

For development using the Liferay Platform, update Liferay Workspace to use the  latest dependencies, by adding the following line to the build.gradle file:

dependencies {
	compileOnly group: "com.liferay.portal", name: "release.portal.api"
}

All portal dependencies are now defined with a single declaration. When using an IDE such as Eclipse or IntelliJ all apis are immediately available in autocomplete for immediate use.  

By setting a product info key property it will be possible to update all dependencies to a new version by updating the liferay.workspace.product property in the liferay workspace projects gradle.property file:

liferay.workspace.product = portal-7.4-ga78

Enabled configuration to make cacheable a Fragment

Now a customer can do a Fragment cacheable or not in the fragment editor, which causes the change in the Modified Date so the fragment would be propagated. To avoid that, we add an option in the ellipsis menu on the Fragment Panel for changing the cacheable status.

According to this, now possible to make Cacheable or not without any Modified Date change which affects to propagation process.

Application Security

Ability to remove password change options in the portal

When the users are authenticated through an SSO, IdP, it is possible to remove the ability of the end users to add or edit their passwords.

As an Instance Administrator, you are able to configure that if the users have the option to give their password at registration and you can remove the whole password block from editing user data if the password is not changeable by the password policy of the user.

Export audit framework data

Sometimes it is needed to process the audit data for which we made that possible to export the data.

As an Instance Administrator you can export audit data filtered by uses and site and you can store the data for audit events.

Theme SVG Spritemap client extension

This new frontend client extension allows users to replace the existing theme spritemap without the need to redeploy a theme. The spritemap should include all icons needed for the scope where it’s used.

The Control panel still uses the admin spritemap.

After registering the client extension, in the page template or page you need to use it, configure it from the design options menu:
