Docker image

To use Liferay Portal 7.4 GA24:

docker run -it -p 8080:8080 liferay/portal:7.4.3.24-ga24

Bundles and other download options

If you are used to binary releases, you can find the Liferay Portal 7.4 GA24 and Liferay Commerce 4.0 GA24 release on the download page.  If you need additional files (for example, the source code, or dependency libraries), visit the release page.

Dependency Management

For development using the Liferay Platform, update Liferay Workspace to use the  latest dependencies, by adding the following line to the build.gradle file:

dependencies {
	compileOnly group: "com.liferay.portal", name: "release.portal.api"
}

All portal dependencies are now defined with a single declaration. When using an IDE such as Eclipse or IntelliJ all apis are immediately available in autocomplete for immediate use.

By setting a product info key property it will be possible to update all dependencies to a new version by updating the liferay.workspace.product property in the liferay workspace projects gradle.property file:

liferay.workspace.product = portal-7.4-ga24

When using an IDE such as Eclipse or IntelliJ all apis are immediately available in autocomplete for immediate use.

Features

Objects

Limiting the number of characters of text and long text fields

Now, power users can limit the number of characters that end users can in a field. This will be very useful when customers  need to add length validation to avoid very long text fields or to fit some business rules.

Audit Objects Modifications

Now admin users are able to track modifications in Objects. This will allow users to track each change in an Object, which can be a new entry, a field update, a new custom view creation, or even a deleted field (before the publication).

Accounts for System (Native) Objects

Provides to users a Native Object called Accounts to support customers' business rules.

https://issues.liferay.com/browse/LPS-151765

Add Validations Rules For Objects with Groovy

Now admin-users are able to add and update validations in the Objects using Groovy Scripts.

Also, users are now able to submit entries linked to one specific Objects successfully if it passes for all validations from that Object.

I tried to run GA24 with the latest Developer Studio and could not recreate this issue.  Make sure liferay workspace is fairly up to date in settings.gradle.  Miy current version is: 3.4.27

in my case, if i download in Friday(just released), and create a new Server in studio, modify gradle.properties, change value of liferay.workspace.product

it just cannot runup, i try in few GA version. but it will be fine in next kind of tuesday.

Hi Jamie we are doing a development within the Liferay Portal Security SSO OpenID Connect Implementation module, which is the module that integrates with IDPs that expose the OIDC protocol. We need that the user is synchronized at each login and that roles or groups are also synchronized on the basis of what the endpoint / userinfo of the OIDC protocol can expose. I was wondering if in Liferay you would be interested in this kind of integration. Who can I propose to?
