Hi, My Name Is...

People who have been knocking around the community over the years probably know me, but I wanted to use my first blog post to introduce myself.  My name is Josh Asbury, and I am the new Sales and Account Manager for Liferay.  I have been an active community member for years, and I was given the opportunity to join Liferay, Inc. back in August.  Needless to say, I jumped at the chance to work for a company who I have admired and, through the community, been a part of for so long.

My primary role will be to help future with their sales needs while increasing our ability to give our existing customers first class treatment.  As a long time user of the Community Edition of Liferay, I think that I will be able to lend a unique approach to our sales process in a Hair Club for Men kind of a way...not only am I a representative of Liferay -- I was also a user!

My intent with this blog won't be to dig too deeply into the technical side of Liferay -- there are already too many amazing people who work here that can do that.  I will use this area to discuss business-y topics.  Certainly, if something involves Liferay, I'll talk about it.  Other areas that I like to knock around from a blogging perspective are technology trends, enterprise open source, web marketing ideas, etc. So, the nature of my blog will be a bit random, but I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing.

Regardless, if you have any needs or questions from a sales perspective, please don't hesitate to drop me a line at joshua.asbury@liferay.com or ping me on my profile here at Liferay.
