Acceptance and love, come and join Ai Na!

Starting from 2014, we have begun our relationship with the Ai Na Volunteer Center and we are so glad to see that many of our colleagues have participated in the activities held by Ai Na and more importantly, bettered themselves through the communication with the autism children and teenagers.

So who/what is Ai Na and what does it do? Right now, this might be the biggest question in your mind. Ai Na is a non-profit organization founded by several moms whose children are with autism. These moms started by learning about autism all by themselves to find out the best way for their children to grow up. Little by little, they have gained much knowledge about autism and they would like to do something more for not only their own children, but also the other autism children and teenagers here in Dalian. That's where they came up with the idea of building up this volunteer center to help different parents find out one way to best communicate with their children and guide those children to fit in the society.

When we first met Ai Na, the volunteer center is located in one apartment room next to Wanda Plaza. Sharon, Sunny, Laura and I went to the apartment room and did many crafts together with the autism children and teenagers. Here, we will guide each child/teenager to best use the tools to make as many paper roses as possible. Later on, these paper roses will be sold to collect money for buying more materials to make more crafts.

Shortly after, the whole volunteer center is moved to one room in a local community service center and our services continued there. Since we have bigger rooms and a playground, we are able to assist the outdoor trainings for the children/teenagers. Here are more craft sessions and even us in the playground with the kids (thanks Vincent, Yibin, Ashley, Cindy, Lu, Hannah, Sharry, Sunny, Vicky, Terry, Sharry and the others who have taken great care of the kids):

This also offers the chance for the guys to be better men like this:

And our works will look like this:

And finally, this:

Teachers and moms from Ai Na are just so warm and sometimes we will forget how hard things can be for them when raising the kids. Luckily, there is the Ai Na Volunteer Center to teach them and to provide them with more chances to communicate and play and spend more time with their kids.

The more powerful you are, the more responsibilities you shall and will take. Are you ready for the challenge from Ai Na? If so, go ahead and visit the project's page on our new EVP site!
