The newly added feature is not having enough option to sort the collections (manual/dymanic) and always displays older content in the list in case of dynamic colleciton.

These are the sort order options that I can see in DXP-7.4 U79.

 

As you mention 7.3: If indeed those options weren't there back then (e.g. due to the feature being new), you might want to consider upgrading. Or file a support ticket asking to backport a feature. But prefer the update... ;)
