Install Liferay IDE

Method 1: Use the Installers

Download the LiferayWorkspacewithDevStudio installer that is appropriate for your OS from the Liferay IDE GitHub repo.

Method 2: Use Eclipse Marketplace

If this is the first time installing Liferay IDE on your Eclipse install, simply drag and drop the button below into your Eclipse workspace:  

If you have a previous installation of Liferay IDE:

1. Navigate to the Help menu and select Eclipse Marketplace...
2. In the Eclipse Marketplace screen, navigate to the Installed tab
3. Find Liferay IDE and click the associated Update button

Method 3: Use the Update Site

1. Visit: https://release.liferay.com/tools/ide and locate the most recent version and the "updatesite" folder.
2. Within Eclipse, navigate to the Help menu and select Install New Software...
3. Copy and paste the updatesite URL into the Work with field.
   For example, if the latest version is 3.10.5 then the full URL to paste will be
   https://releases.liferay.com/tools/ide/3.10.5/updatesite/
4. Press Enter and Liferay IDE will appear as a selectable option
5. Select Liferay IDE and click Next to proceed with the rest of the installation

Additional steps

For methods 2 and 3, you may need to perform the following remediation steps during installation if prompted:

1. Select "Show original error and build my own solution:"
2. Check "Install different version than originally requested"
3. Check "Remove items already installed"
4. Click Next
