Liferay Portal 6 Release Candidate Released

Thanks Brian. This is good news. I have to try it out.

Hi it means liferay 6.0.1 will have HINDI language available.

Thanks Brian!

Looks like it is the same as http://releases.liferay.com/portal/6.0.1/

If you are interested in Maven support, read my comments here: http://www.liferay.com/web/mika.koivisto/blog/-/blogs/liferay-maven-sdk#_33_message_4878359

Basically Maven works once you update some pom.xml files ...

I am waiting for the 6.0.2 :-)

Again, I would love to have nightly *source* tarballs

Thanks Bruno. I forgot to modify the pom.xml files before the release. I've since fixed that and added a reminder for myself.

I'll add the nightly source tar balls for you emoticon

Hi I was testing liferay 6.0.1. To see strucute or template, when you press on Launch Editor give error "failed to retrive content". Any idea?
Also one can not create new content with Launch Editor.

"com.liferay.portal.action.LayoutAction.renderExclusive(LayoutAction.java:910)"

Fixed in SVN a few days ago. It was our overly aggressive security settings. We'll have another RC soon to flush out these issues.

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

Yes ,you should upload new RC soon as this is main thing in building article structure and templates for Journal articles. Thanks for explanination.Keep the good work.

Another bug, at category section, non of the categories are shown. Although categories are added . It shows blank list.

Also when you add journal article, the status is always 'not aprroved'. How you do approved status. I dont want to implement workflow.

Hi all, I recently took SVN updates of liferay 6.0.1.
I come across following problems if someone can explain me.

1) At add category section, non of the categories are shown. Although categories are added . It shows blank list.

2) when you add journal article, the status is always 'not aprroved'. How you do approved status. I dont want to implement workflow

3) How do I add validations to structre of journal articale in v6.0.2 as I want to make some fields mandatory and some validations on that before editor saves or update article.

4) Is there any way to select document from document libraroy and then add this document in the text editor so that text of the document will be added to content. Like this content of the document will be in the journal article without link to document.

Is there anywhere document for New release 6.0.1?

thanks and sorry for many question.

Hi Brian,
When do you think the new RC be done?

Thanks,
Vineet

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

Hey Vineet, we're looking to release the next RC2 this week. It's a TON of work emoticon

Thanks for waiting.

Hi Brian. I really appreciate all the effort you are putting in to all of this. I've been keeping tabs on the svn log and its great to see this much activity going on

I've got a question tho. Will you also be updating the liferay plugins and incubator pugins in time for the rc2 release ?

I tried running of the trunk the other day and as it is lots of plugins wont run due to incompatible changes to the FriendlyUrlMapper interface and the fact that you updated the jstl

Thanks Brian, looking forward to it.

Thanks Brian and Bruno for such a nice news!!!

Great news!

Unfortunately we get an error message on SF:

Unable to find any mirror information for the "/Liferay Portal/6.0.1/liferay-portal-tomcat-6.0.1.zip" file.

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

Weird, it was working earlier. Must be a SF.net issue. Will connect with them to see what's going on. Thanks.

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

I can't download any file on SF.
The error indicated by Institut Straumann continued :-(

Unable to find any mirror information for the "/Liferay Portal/6.0.1/liferay-portal-tomcat-6.0.1.zip" file. Please select another file.

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

It looks like a bug in SF.net. We're going to try and reupload them. Sorry about that.

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

Files are now available in SF. Yeahhhh! :-D

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

Thank You, Sir emoticon

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

Perfect news! emoticon

When do you expect a v6 CE edition? Any plans?

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

Why was Glassfish V3 bundle dropped? I can only see Glassfish v2 bundle?

Any issues with V3?

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

We didn't drop Glassfish V3 (we added it). We dropped V2 since that was the older one now.

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

But the download select box on download page says "Bundled with Glassfish 2" - A typo I suppose!

We should correct it!

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

Thanks Rohit. Fixed.

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

Glad to help!

Thanks Brian,

Is the caching deadlock solved in this version. I can not see it across the solved bugs list!

HI, do You know when Liferay Portal 6 RC will be released ?

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

I mean, when final version LP 6 emoticon

will be released ?

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

Can anyone please tell me is there a difference in file system and installation procedure for Life Ray 6.0.1 CE on windows server and Linux based server ? We are planning to buy Linux based server to host Life Ray. Which bundle should we use ?

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

Hi Varun, thanks. Logically, you can run LF 6 in any servers. But Linux-based server is much better. You can use the bundle (for example, Tomcat, JBoss, etc.) in the server directly. For more details, you may refer to the book:

Liferay Portal 6 Enterprise Intranets

at http://www.amazon.com/Liferay-Portal-6-Enterprise-Intranets/dp/1849510385

Let me know if you have any queries,

Thanks

Dear Jonas

Thank you very much for the prompt reply.

We did install Life Ray 6.0.1 CE on our Linux based server.

We ran catalina.sh

Then we ran startup.sh

The problem we facing is "There is a problem with start/stop of CoyoteConnector"

How shall we start the Coyote Connector ?

Thank You

Hi, Is there a roadmap available somewhere ?

The one on the wiki seems outdated

Veuillez vous identifier pour voter.

If it is released why "release" + "candidate" LOL ; - )

Guys, your team is extremely huge now... and looks you are forced to opensource this Horilla. Because of GPL restrictions of underlying technology; that's funny.

I don't feel you are quick enough... there still is security vulnerability when cached content is provided by session token so that user behind caching proxy can see the session of another user, and I reported it... 2 years ago!!!

Thanks anyway...

1. Image files, JavaScript, and etc., provided with caching HTTP Response Headers such as "expires", AND with "cookie" - theoretically, caching proxies should ignore cookie when caching, but it still doesn't happen
http://issues.liferay.com/browse/LPS-15802

2. All versions 6.0.0, 6.0.1, ..., 6.0.6 have memory leak issues: "smart guy" permanently stores references on a session in a Vector
(wow, you are "vector" lovers...)

3. Broken support for Apache WIcket 1.4.7
