You need to export and import one by one.
I'd do a quick test if that strategy works. You might even get into trouble with the custom fields. I think, it will complain when you import the site on the other instance about the missing custom fielda.Christoph Rabel2017-07-01T17:42:10ZRE: Portal instance data migrationAlla Sapozhnikovahttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=913245052017-07-01T13:50:26Z2017-07-01T13:50:26ZCustom fields and roles are within an instance. If this version we created a tool to move instances between different Liferay portals.

For previous versions, first of all you need to decide which objects are indispensable to move.

For all related to sites (web contents, documents, pages, etc.) you can use LAR (please be sure that both instances use the same version of Liferay, if not you should upgrade first)

For other cross cutting elements like organizations, users or roles you could create your custom development which creates these objects in the other installation using the API. You could also check Liferay Marketplace or use LDAP for exporting and importing users.

Regards.Alberto Chaparro2017-06-16T07:36:43ZRE: Portal instance data migrationDavid Bougearelhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=907354062017-06-16T06:35:16Z2017-06-16T06:35:16ZHi both of you,

Yes maybe my first message was not clear enough.
We have already a liferay portal with several portal instance inside on a server.
We have another liferay portal with some portal instance on another server.

We need to migrate data of one portal instance of the first server to the second server.
Imagine the first server has portal instances A, B, C and the second server has portal instance D.
We want to create on the second server a portal instance B. So after creating the new portal instance B inside the second server, it comes the issue with data migration.

What is the best way to do it from your opinion ?

Thanks a lot.

Best regards,
David.David Bougearel2017-06-16T06:35:16ZRE: Portal instance data migrationAlberto Chaparrohttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=907030552017-06-15T12:38:14Z2017-06-15T12:38:14ZHi Davids,

Maybe the David Bougearel wants to move the data from one Liferay portal to another different Liferay portal instance, is that the case?

Regards.Alberto Chaparro2017-06-15T12:38:14ZRE: Portal instance data migrationDavid H Nebingerhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=907030372017-06-15T12:35:22Z2017-06-15T12:35:22ZThe database should not be an issue, it is just a database.

You just have to copy over the data folder and portal-ext.properties (and perhaps other) files.

Do not change paths, however, or things get kind of hairy.

Come meet me at the 2017 LSNA!David H Nebinger2017-06-15T12:35:22ZPortal instance data migration
