Originally I was going to put it on SQL Server, but we've only got CE at the moment.

LeeLee Chamberlain2017-01-10T11:00:40ZRE: Server and database running at the same timeFernando Fernandezhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=845981682017-01-10T10:55:31Z2017-01-10T10:55:31ZThat's because HSQL is an embedded DB and not a DB server, supporting multiple connections.

You really should migrate your Liferay instance to mysql or another database server.

HTH

FernandoFernando Fernandez2017-01-10T10:55:31ZRE: Server and database running at the same timeLee Chamberlainhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=845981462017-01-10T10:48:53Z2017-01-10T10:48:53ZSorry I've a touch of insomnia at the moment and not making myself clear.

When I have tomcat running I cannot open Squirrel to view the database at the same time. Which means whenever I need to check the database I have to stop the server which is taking up far too much time.

Thanks
LeeLee Chamberlain2017-01-10T10:48:53ZRE: Server and database running at the same timeFernando Fernandezhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=845981382017-01-10T10:46:33Z2017-01-10T10:46:33ZHi Lee,

I'm not sure what you mean, since even with hsql they are "running" at the same time, or else Liferay wouldn't be working.

Maybe you want them to run in separate processes? If so you might want to migrate your DB to a mysql server, for example. After you setup your mysql server you can migrate the db with the "data migration" option in the Control Panel, and then add a new jdbc url to your portal-ext.properties.

HTH

FernandoFernando Fernandez2017-01-10T10:46:33ZServer and database running at the same timeLee Chamberlainhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=845927762017-01-10T09:26:57Z2017-01-10T09:26:57ZProbably a big dumb ques
