Categories: Where I post in this situation?Categories: Where I post in this situation?https://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_thread?p_l_id=119785333&threadId=47665992024-03-29T08:54:45Z2024-03-29T08:54:45ZCategories: Where I post in this situation?Pablo Minohttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=47665982010-03-26T22:12:49Z2010-03-26T22:12:49ZHi,<br /><br />I want to share you this, I might be wrong but from a amateur point of view like mine this is troublesome, and is worse if you really need an answer <br /><br />I'm trying to fix a few things in a portlet which I made with several features, I present you the following analysis:<br /><br />1.- It's a new portlet being developed<br />2.- Is not part of Plugins SDK, we wanted to create a portlet as a single project<br />3.- It uses Icefaces for View tier<br />4.- It uses Spring for service tier<br />5.- It uses Hibernate for persistance tier<br />6.- It uses Maven2 for deploy<br /><br />Ok, so, it is a portlet dev so it should go on cat 3 but no because it is not part of Plugins SDK, maybe would fit on cat 5 because of its Hibernate and Spring use, but I also use Icefaces so I should go to cat 6 and I deploy it with Maven so it could go on cat 1...<br /><br />I know this sound like a joke and ye, if you need help everything won't fail at the sametime<br /><br />I think categories should make the distinction between user levels: user, developer and integrator<br /><br />User is meant to do questions about using, configuration and basic deploying<br />Developer is meant to ask all about things that are not working and share about all the attemps using any technologies they need on subcategories portal source, ext and plugins portlets, or in MVC-oriented categories<br />And Integrator is meant to ask about 3rd party stuff and deployment of it with LR (not Icefaces here)<br /><br />oh oh and a communer cat too, for people like me suggesting crazy ideas and idle chatter <img alt="emoticon" src="@theme_images_path@/emoticons/happy.gif" ><br /><br />By the way, if someone can check my maven problem in category 5 ty <img alt="emoticon" src="@theme_images_path@/emoticons/sm
