You should be able to use your logic to set appropriate backURL.

Best,
ShagulShagul Khajamohideen2009-12-23T18:41:35ZRE: Custom View of Document LibraryJack Hhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=44011772009-12-23T18:27:08Z2009-12-23T18:27:08ZThanks one more time. I actually decided it was better to modify the JSP, so I got it working so I can pass along a parameter "kioskMode=true" and I am now using my own JSPs to display the way I like. I'm doing this via the hook concept.

The only thing I cannot figure out is how to modify the "back" link that is displayed when you drill into a folder. I can append to the folder links themselves no problem. If I can either set something from within the JSP so this portlet instance knows it's in "kioskMode", or can pass a parameter to that back link, I'll be set! Any idea there?

Thanks!!!

- JackJack H2009-12-23T18:27:08ZRE: Custom View of Document LibraryShagul Khajamohideenhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=43953142009-12-21T23:39:11Z2009-12-21T23:39:11ZDocument Library is part of Liferay core portlets. There is no easy way to just pull the code out for that porltet and work against it.

But, it is possible to use all the underlying services and utils of document library and develop a custom portlet in the plugins-sdk.

I hope this helps.

Best Regards,
ShagulShagul Khajamohideen2009-12-21T23:39:11ZRE: Custom View of Document LibraryJack Hhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=43951122009-12-21T21:53:17Z2009-12-21T21:53:17ZThank you - I THOUGHT this was exactly what I was looking for, especially when combined with http://kamalkantrajput.blogspot.com/2009/05/using-hooks-in-liferay-for-customizing.html which walks through the directory structure, etc. It works like a charm.

However what I need is more detailed I guess - I need to be able to have a different view for the Document Library Display ONLY on this particular page (the kiosk page - which will be a public page within my kiosks). The changes I'm making so far - which are only some text so I can figure out the overall layout - are appearing in the view and in the admin screen, which is not what I want. IS there a way to specify an alternate view sometimes (ie in my kiosk page) or must I build a new portlet for this? Can I simply install the document library display under an alternative name and then modify it via the hooks?

Thank you again.

- JackJack H2009-12-21T21:53:17ZRE: Custom View of Document LibraryShagul Khajamohideenhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=43949072009-12-21T20:23:35Z2009-12-21T20:23:35ZHi Jack,

Take a look at the below blog by Ray Auge.

You should be able to replace all the document library jsp code in the Liferay plugin-hook environment.

http://www.liferay.com/web/raymond.auge/blog/-/blogs/portal-hook-plugins

Best Regards,
ShagulShagul Khajamohideen2009-12-21T20:23:35ZCustom View of Document LibraryJack Hhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=43948722009-12-21T20:02:05Z2009-12-21T20:02:05ZHi all -

I'm setting up my first Liferay install, and have managed to get it set up, integrated with Active Directory, and even create my own (very rough) theme. Now, I need to customize the output of the Document Library view - I think.

My short term goal is to create a TOUCH SCREEN FRIENDLY screen - no user name, no login, etc. - that will give users on a kiosk access to a set of documents (likely all PDF) that they can then optionally print on the same kiosk. My theme is set to get rid of all of the menus, etc. which is fine. However the output of the document library is table based, and although I can increase the font size, I cannot make this look nice, formatted into buttons, etc. and get rid of the "0 files" if a folder
