Or you can simply change it. (Search in the file for 8005 and 8009 and change them to e.g. 9005 and 9009)

In any case: To have multiple tomcat instances running, you have to change/fix all these ports.Christoph Rabel2018-10-28T19:11:11ZRE: Changing port 8080 to different port numberTaruchit Goyalhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=1113512702018-10-28T08:13:17Z2018-10-28T08:13:17ZHello,

On staring the server, I get error:
Error: Exception thrown by the agent : java.rmi.server.ExportException: Port already in use: 8099; nested exception is:
java.net.BindException: Address already in use: JVM_Bind

Thus, I changed the port number to 7070 in http port from eclipse; and then checked server.xml file in conf folder.

<Connector URIEncoding="UTF-8" connectionTimeout="20000" port="7070" protocol="HTTP/1.1" redirectPort="8443"/>

After saving all changes, I tried to start the server again. Thank you very much.

BarbaraBarbara Regan2009-11-11T20:19:14ZRE: Changing port 8080 to different port numberArtur Korolhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=42640262009-11-11T17:50:53Z2009-11-11T17:50:53ZHi,

You can adjust following section in <tomcat-root>/conf/server.xml, eg:

<Connector address="10.1.1.110" port="80" maxHttpHeaderSize="8192"
maxThreads="150" minSpareThreads="25" maxSpareThreads="75"
enableLookups="false" redirectPort="8443" acceptCount="100"
connectionTimeout="20000" disableUploadTimeout="true" URIEncoding="UTF-8" />

In my example, Tomcat listens on address 10.1.1.110 only, on port 80. You may want to adjust similar section for HTTPS as well.

ArturArtur Korol2009-11-11T17:50:53ZChanging port 8080 to different port numberBarbara Reganhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=42637092009-11-11T17:03:18Z2009-11-11T17:03:18ZI downloaded and installed Liferay-portal-tomcat-5.5-5.2.2.zip (Liferay portal version 5.2.2 bundled with Tomcat 5.5).
<
