Step by step we dive deeper and deeper into the liferay system and understand what happens

Best
TrollTrollbahrt Wunderlich2007-12-05T15:01:42ZRE: Static Portlet NavigationJorge Ferrerhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=2857352007-11-20T19:55:53Z2007-11-20T19:55:53ZHi Trollbahrt,

The reason why that's necessary is because your portlet is instanceable. And to add a static portlet you always need to refer to an instance. For regular portlets its the portlet name itself, but for instanceable portlets it should be a string of the form:

{portlet_name}_INSTANCE_{four_random_chars}Jorge Ferrer2007-11-20T19:55:53ZRE: Static Portlet NavigationTrollbahrt Wunderlichhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=2847292007-11-20T13:33:46Z2007-11-20T13:33:46ZHi Jorge,

we solved it! The answer to this problem is, to change our code in portal-ext.properties!

We have to change

layout.static.portlets.start.column-1[user]=71

to

layout.static.portlets.start.column-1[user]=71_INSTANCE_abak

thats all

I dont understand exactly what there happens, but it works

Best
TrollTrollbahrt Wunderlich2007-11-20T13:33:46ZRE: Static Portlet NavigationJorge Ferrerhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=2797932007-11-18T23:50:17Z2007-11-18T23:50:17ZHi Trollbahrt,

That should work. If not, either it's not reading the portal(-ext).properties file correctly or it's a bug. Could you double check the former and otherwise let me now along with the version that you are using?Jorge Ferrer2007-11-18T23:50:17ZRE: Static Portlet NavigationReinier de Graafhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=2707802007-11-13T15:40:49Z2007-11-13T15:40:49ZI found this, but I have not tested it myself:
http://wiki.liferay.com/index.php/Add_runtime_portlets_to_a_layout

You can also look at this thread, where portlets are defined in the theme templates:
How to include portlet or content to my theme's layout?

Please let me know what your approach is to solve this. The latter solution does not seem correct.

Regards,

ReinierReinier de Graaf2007-11-13T15:40:49ZStatic Portlet Navigation (RESOLVED)Trollbahrt Wunderlichhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=2702722007-11-13T13:55:04Z2007-11-13T13:55:04ZHi all,

I try to set the navigationportlet as a static portlet so all users must see it.
