fragment project to configure additional CKEDITOR plugins which also
appeared to be dynamically including CKEDITOR on every portal page.
Rather than try to "port" that fragment project over to 7.4
(which would have been a challenge due to structural changes in the
underlying <strong>ckeditor.jsp</strong> fragment file), I opted for
just including a "hidden"
<strong><liferay-editor:editor></strong> tag in my JSP which
causes the CKEDITOR code to be loaded so my dynamically created
TEXTAREAs can be connected up as CKEDITOR instances.</p>
<p>I will consider this questions closed unless someone has a simpler
solution. Thanks. </p>David Searles2022-06-14T21:38:42ZUpgrading from DXP 7.0 to 7.4David Searleshttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=1214419262022-06-14T15:55:39Z2022-06-13T20:13:20Z<p>Yes, I know... we're very backlevel due to limited staffing.</p>
<p>I'm trying to bring over an MVC portlet from 7.0 to 7.4 which uses
traditional Javascript w/ jQuery (NOT React!). The Javascript
leverages CKEDITOR on dymanically created DOM elements but when I try
to run the Javascript, I'm get the following error in the browser console:</p>
<p>
<img alt="" src="/documents/14/0/screenshot-48.png/8af85d91-9dd3-8a02-d6a4-e4eaf8e2426c?t=1655150946261&imagePreview=1" />
<br /> Is there some "magic" now required by 7.4 to have
CKEDITOR included with my portlet which wasn't necessary in 7.0? The
Javascript code is trying to "connect" a dynamically created
TEXTAREA as a CKEDITOR instance.</p>
<p>Thanks in advance as 2+ days of sea
