we are running Liferay DXP 7.1.10 GA1 (dxp-18-7110).

While reviewing our backups, I noticed that the Liferay database has
grown tremendously since the last update two years ago (6.2 to 7.1). A
quick look at the tables then also showed that the Audit_AuditEvent
table contains around 2 gigabytes of data (over 1.8 million entries,
first one from the update day).

Is there a mechanism to limit the number of entries (e.g. "last
14 days" or "max. 2000 entries")? In the configuration
the "Audit Message Maximum Queue Size" is set to the default
value of 200, but that seems to have no effect or is meant for
something else...

Otherwise, can we safely clean this table periodically via script? Or
are there any dependencies here?

Thanks in advance!

André<
