Can you please open a feature request so we can track it.Milen Dyankov2019-03-01T11:57:05ZRE: LibreOffice Online integrationMilen Dyankovhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=1124954722019-02-27T15:14:54Z2019-02-27T15:14:54ZI think the poit Fernando is making is that with solutions hosted by 3rd parties one has to send the content to their cloud/hosting in order to use the editor.
With LibreOffice Online one has to host it on its own. It's more work and hosting costs but all the data stays withing the infra of the owner.
I have a frind running LibreOffice Online with NextCloud for his company as they don't trust Goolgle. For many users that is an important security feature, I believe.

FernandoFernando Fernandez2019-02-27T15:14:01ZRE: LibreOffice Online integrationDavid H Nebingerhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=1124945682019-02-27T15:04:45Z2019-02-27T15:04:45ZIt would be using HTTPS, same way with using Libreoffice Online. I don't know that you could defend one as having different security than another...David H Nebinger2019-02-27T15:04:45ZRE: LibreOffice Online integrationFernando Fernandezhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=1124932602019-02-27T13:51:27Z2019-02-27T13:51:27ZHi Milen,

Thanks. Those are excellent news. The only problem with using cloud editors - correct me if I'm wrong - is that you're sending your content over the net to edit on google/microsoft servers. Security sensitive data on many intranets will make some people avoid that solution.

Anyway, it's good news.

FernandoFernando Fernandez2019-02-27T13:51:27ZRE: LibreOffice Online integrationMilen Dyankovhttps://liferay.dev/en/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=119785333&messageId=1124895162019-02-27T11:18:55Z2019-02-27T11:18:55ZHi Fernando,

I checked with the Collaboration team and they confirmed third-party online editors are definitely something we are interested in.

In fact for 7.2, we are releasing an Online Editing feature which integrates Google Docs/Sheets/Slides (<strike></strike>see LPS-83715 and Alpha 1 release announcement).
As this is something you seem to be interested in, please check it out if you can and provide your feedback in Feedback for Milestone releases

Also Offie365 was planned but will not be released with 7.2 (see LPS-82617, LPS-82618).

I'm still checking if LibreOffice Online was cosidered in the past and if it's on the roadmap. I'll update you once I know more. But may be Document Library only need to provide an extension point for it. Waht do you think? Have you tried to do something like that? Do you have experience with LibreOffice Online? Do you know what is needed for this to work?

Anyways, let me check with the product team if this is aligned with the road map or can be considered. It does not include any form of file system. To be fully functional, it has to be integrated with file
