&lt;p&gt;We have written a script to automatically start the web service.
  Before starting, we need to provide the SSL passphrase. However, due
  to certain restrictions, we are unable to install the &lt;strong&gt;
    &lt;code&gt;expect&lt;/code&gt;
  &lt;/strong&gt; library on our Linux system. Is there an alternative method
  to pass the SSL passphrase? Please find the script below.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;# Use `expect` to handle the SSL passphrase prompt&lt;br&gt;
  /usr/bin/expect &amp;lt;&amp;lt;EOF&lt;br&gt; sudo service httpd start&lt;br&gt; expect
  &amp;quot;Please Enter SSL passphrase:&amp;quot;&lt;br&gt; send
  &amp;quot;$passphrase\r&amp;quot;&lt;br&gt; expect eof&lt;br&gt; EOF&lt;/p&gt;
