Hi there,
I am facing a problem during the installation of Liferay IDE for Eclipse. I have downloaded the 3.7.1 indigo release and try to do the first step of installation as described in http://www.liferay.com/documentation/liferay-portal/6.0/development/-/ai/installation.
I am at the point of "Install new software...". I enter the http://releases.liferay.com/tools/ide/eclipse/indigo/stable/ in the "work with ..." field and press enter but after some minutes (it says "fetching children of ...stable" in the bottom left corner) I get the error message:
(see Screenshot)
This happens at 50% of "fetching children ...". But, in fact it appears twice (as there are two "Unable to connect to repository http://releases.liferay.com/tools/ide/eclipse/indigo/stable/content.xml" in the error message), there first time it appears at 10%.
The exact same thing happens with "/nightly".
What's wrong? Any ideas? Is the server currently down where the context.xml file is?
Thank you and greetings - Mathis

Liferay doesn't really stand up a normal Eclipse update site. Your best bet is just to download the Liferay IDE Eclipse plugins from the download site, then pull them into Eclipse from the local directory rather than the network URL (that doesn't really work).

Thank you for your quick response. Just, which Liferay IDE Eclipse plugins to I need and where do I find them (I suppose in the "download" area but that's quite big, too)?
EDIT: I guess I have found it (just followed the "Work with ..." link).

When you go here: http://www.liferay.com/downloads/liferay-projects/liferay-ide, choose the "Liferay IDE 1.4.0 Archived Update-site" and download that. It is the file that contains the IDE plugins.
