<p>You're looking for DataHandlers.</p> <p>Upon a quick check, I only found <a href="https://help.liferay.com/hc/en-us/articles/360028726332-Developing-Data-Handlers">their 7.2 documentation</a>, but I guess that there were no significant changes.</p>
