    <summary type="html">&lt;p&gt;MySql 8 was released just before 7.1. There was no time to introduce
  another full infrastructure testing before release - so MySql8 is not
  on the compatibility list for Liferay Portal 7.1 (CE). If you want to
  use MySql 8, I suggest to upgrade. This has the side-benefit of also
  making bugfixes (potentially security related) and new features for you.&lt;/p&gt;</summary>
