  childs in navigation menu. (7.3.)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I'm not sure if this is exactly your problem but to me this seems
  like a liferay bug.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;on a Liferay 7.2 instance, we have a large main navigation menu.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;5 Pages at layer 0 each with 2-4 children and an equal amount of
  gand-children. If i add one menuitem and move it via the editor and
  Drag &amp;amp;Drop to a Layer 3 for example, another menu item at Layer 0
  moves to position 0 in the order of their Layer. We observed this
  behaviour as well in the DB in the .SiteNavigationMenuItem
  table. &lt;br /&gt; How does this happen and more important how can we fix it? &lt;/p&gt;</summary>
