&lt;p&gt;My use case is to manage all structures and templates for my customer
  portals in GIT and copy them into Liferay. Up to LR 7.3.x that was
  easy possible, but at the moment this feature is lost.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I hope Liferay will bring it back soon.&lt;/p&gt;</summary>

  much more than its source plus a name.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;However, at some time (and I don't remember when) source changed from
  XML to JSON. If 7.0 is still XML, the transformation is in an upgrade
  path and you should upgrade your 7.0 installation to get the 7.4
  compatible result. If that's the case, even the export/import
  functionality wouldn't have helped.&lt;/p&gt;</summary>
