I was thinking of just adding to the fields autocomplete="off" (which is what I normally do) but there are some people around me that are saying that they attribute is not necessarily adhered to as it depends on the browser.

I have a similar problem here.

When I register a new user, the browser (Firefox in this case) always autofills the the lastName field with an emailaddress. No idea why. I checked the html, I really can't explain why it does that. I actually only noticed it, because the customer admin has the very same problem. With Chrome.

I am not sure why, but that browser autofill sometimes behaves in a weird way. I don't think, Liferay can do anything against that.

Right -- I installed A1 and I am seeing an empty field. The name of the field is ... "name", so that's probably why google is trying to be helpful. Might be an idea though for Liferay to disable the autofill for that field, if not change the field to be "categoryName".

Yeah my Chrome browser is auto filling the name field with my name (email address). Perhaps the field id is too generic and Chrome thinks it's a persons name? Should be blank (not pre-populated).

ugh -- sorry, just realized that you were referring to 7.2 A1 .. need to install that one still. Question still stands. Though I am guessing now that you are reporting that the users name is being pre-populated?

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. As you saying you WANT to pre-populate with the users emai or screen name as the category name?

(I just checked on my local 7.1GA3 CE install, and when I add a new category the name field is blank -- which aliogns with what I see in the source)

Create a messageboard category ... see that the title field is called "Name" which then can auto fill with users email address or their screen "name". Could this be changed to category title?
