Hi Tom, you can try to follow the instructions Ethan gave to Gordon, it worked for him. :)

@Gordon, try running dm wtf in gogo shell. It'll tell you any modules that have dependency issues. If it tells you any modules are "in the INSTALLED state", try running start ${bundleId} for each and it'll tell you what (if anything) is keeping them from being activated.

Hey @Deveshree,

If you're still experiencing this issue, can you update your commerce repo and try deploying the modules again? We had a bug recently in our dependency jar versions which prevented things from running correctly on 7.1 DXP GA1, but it should be fixed now -- hopefully just updating your code will do the trick.

Try to check the gogo shell.

Control Panel > Configuration > Gogo Shell and check with lb | grep commerce in what state the modules are.

If they aren't active, try to remove them (with server running) from the modules folder. Then add them again.

Ethan: Well, that linked worked. It built properly. I see the modules in the '/bundles/osgi/modules/ directory. However, after restarting the server, commerce does not show up in the portal. No error messages in logs.

BTW, saw path that it was installed into and its correct :-)

Sorry -- it was a formatting issue. I intended to list a series of commands, but it was turned into a link. Please see that post again.

Essentially the idea is to fetch the latest commerce code (branch 7.1.x) and deploy that, instead of what you have locally at the moment. I still haven't been able to find the commit you listed, so I'm not sure why it's failing for you more specifically than the code isn't up-to-date.

I now have it working. I copied the modules from bundles to osgi/modules. Restarted the server and now I can see everything. Thanks again to Christoph for sharing his insights.

That's a sensible thing to do and should contribute to a solution to your problems. An easier way make be, since you're running Linux, to create a symlink at ../bundles/osgi/modules pointing to the appropriate deploy location, so that you don't have to copy the files manually every time.

However, this also means that deploying to the wrong location is not the source of your issues. Hopefully updating your repo does the trick.
