Accessibility issue defining headers and footers in master page

Accessibility issue defining headers and footers in master page

by defining headers and footers in the masterpage some screen readers (such as NVDA) do not recognize the regions of the page correctly. Everything seems to end up in the "main" and headers and footers are not detected.
