How to get Widget Page (Page Name) as a result in Liferay Default Search?
Hi,
I am using Liferay 7.2 EE. We know, in Liferay we have two types of page Widget Type and Content Type. But Widget Page Name is not coming out in search result (Liferay Out Of The Box Search).
For Example:
Page Name: MyFirstLiferayPage
Page Type: Widget
In Search:
Keyword: MyFirstLiferayPage
Do not find this page as a result in Search (Liferay OOTB Search)
Again,
Page Name: MySecondLiferayPage
Page Type: Content
In Search:
Keyword: MySecondLiferayPage
"MySecondLiferayPage" is available in search result as Page type (Liferay OOTB Search)
Due to some restriction, I have to use Widget Type Page. Also I need that page name in search results. How to implement this or how to customize it?
Kindly put your comments on this.
I am eagerly waiting for your reply.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Anuvab

Liferay, in general, does not index pages, only content. Users can search for content matching keywords, but not pages.
Why? Well pages are dynamic, pages change depending upon what contents have been published, personallization, etc.
So it is just not practical to index pages in this context.

Thank you David for your response. Understood the thought.
We get Content Type Page (Page Name) in Search results. But not widget type.
Is it possible to achieve?

Liferay 7.3 finds Widget Pages.
But I have no idea how extensive the changes were or if they will ever be backported to 7.2. You could open a ticket about that, since you are an EE customer.

Thank you Rabel, for sharing the information and the suggestion.
