Deprecation of AUI in liferay 7.1
Hi,
I'm fairly new to liferay and i was trying to build an applicationin liferay 7.1.
I would like to set up a strong front end validation framework for all the portlets that i'm using. so while reading about them, i saw that AUI taglib was deprecated in liferay 7.1. So which is the taglib supported by 7.1 for forms?
Is there any other front end frameworks that are having form support and also a good built in validation framework too.
I read about clay taglib but couldnt find any form components. So Which will be the best front end taglib to choose from?
I would greatly appreciate all the inputs.
Thanks in advance...

Hi Swathy,
I'm not sure if this is the best advice, so take it with a grain of salt
. As you said, I haven't seen anything in the clay taglibs that provides a validator (or equivalent) tag. For now I have just been continuing to use the AUI taglibs. Yes, they are depracated, but there is so much AUI in the core product I just can't imagine them "vanishing" any time soon. For me, I have taken the depracation as an indication that they are no longer being actively developed and that support is limited. So definitely avoid them unless you need them. I woul dimagine that <aui:/> is so widely used by the Liferay Community that when the day comes that the tag is sunset forever, there will be a clear migration guide / upgrade tool to get you in line with whatever is new. Just my two cents.
I'm not sure if this is the best advice, so take it with a grain of salt
