RE: Building Enterprise Websites Course - can't add objects as admin user
I've been able to successfully complete most of the coursework so far for the Building Enterprise Websites with Liferay Course. When I got to Module 6, section 9 ("Building Clarity's Contact Us Form"), I followed the initial direction to log in as the admin user and navigate to Control Panel>Objects. On that page, I'm unable to create a new object or a new object folder. How do I troubleshoot this issue?
Hi Andrea,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention—I really appreciate it!
It looks like a reindexing issue. When you have a moment, could you try the following?
- Log in to your account.
- Go to Control Panel → Search → Index Actions.
- Click Execute Full Reindex.
Once the reindexing is complete, refreshing your Objects page should allow you to create a new object or a new object folder.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue or if there’s anything else I can do to help—I’d be happy to assist!
Best regards,
Abhner
When I go to Index Actions, I do not see an Execute Full Reindex button, either. Here is a screenshot of what I see:
I've tried editing my comment twice, but it refuses to save. It appears it hasn't saved the screenshot I tried to add. I see the Reindex mode dropdown, set to full. And I see a list of actions, with a reindex button next to each action. I do not see an "Execute Full Reindex" button anywhere. Thanks for your help!
Apologies, Andrea—I didn’t receive the reply notification for some reason.
If you follow the first two steps I shared earlier, do you see a Reindex button next to All Search Indexes under the Global section? If so, could you click it and on the resulting prompt, click Execute.?
This should work now. Let me know if it resolves the issue.
