New developer feedback
I've been working in my first job as a developer with Liferay for a few months now, and I see that there are very few quality educational resources available. The documentation is extensive but quite abstract and lacks practical examples. I have to learn on my own how this extremely extensive platform works, and I only have access to rather poor documentation and Liferay University, whose videos are very theoretical and lack high-quality practical examples. I'm wondering if it's worth the effort to overcome the learning curve when there are more in-demand and easier-to-learn technologies out there.
Given that there is a lot of documentation out there (e.g. on learn.liferay.com, in blogs on this site, conference videos, etc), I'd say that "not good" is nothing actionable. I'd be curious if you can describe better where you struggle, because "more high quality resources" is such a vast open field, that it's guaranteed to not match your perception within the near future: The above statement doesn't even state in which area (and for which version) you'd personally need the most documentation.
Somewhat sneaky, slightly sarcastic, but meant friendly: As you state that you're in your first job (I'm assuming: paid), you'll have to judge for yourself if the pay is worth the effort. You're working on a platform that takes away quite a lot of burden from you, that you don't need to pay attention to any more. Naturally, there are other environments that don't provide as much service to you, and that are easier to grasp (and document).
