Manage menus of a site template
One of the main advantage of Liferay is the capacity of easy manage sites with a template.
In Liferay 6.x, Menu does not exist so we do menu in footer with custom code or with web content...
In Liferay 7.x we have now Menu but there are not updated (propagated) if we are on a site template.
In every site we have a main Menu, a side Menu and a footer Menu... if for example I want to add an entry in my footer Menu, I must do it on the 300 sites because the Menu is not propagated !!!
Only if we use the primary Menu, it works... so only the main Menu is propagated... we have a lot of bugs if we want to use the secondary Menu or any other Menu.
Big companies use Liferay DXP and they choose Liferay because they want to adopt a product with many OOTB componants and not create a new one from scratch. Service builder, No-code, Low-code, fragments, remote-app and site factory are very appreciated by our clients but this last years the site template part seems abandoned (simply maintained)
Hi Eric,
Thank you for the contribution. I have created https://issues.liferay.com/browse/LPS-184054 in Jira to help track the request.
