RE: Publications - Portlet is temporarily unavailable.
I created a new publication, made some changes on the site... and when I went to PUBLISH the new publication I just get a message that says "Portlet is temporarily unavailable." in RED up top and no other info... Not helpful.

I don't have access to the logs. Can't you just tell me why that would or could happen?

Unfortunately, I cannot. Such messages are coming if something unexpected happened that needs further investigation for which the best starting point is the server log. Without that it's hard to say anything. Sorry about that.
Which version of the portal do you use? Upgrading to a newer version may also help as the bug that causes the problem may have been fixed there. But still, the problem would be better to be investigated properly.
