Hi

According to the information of Jorge Diaz ( in https://liferay.dev/ask/questions/portal/chat-portlet-for-liferay-7-digital-enterprise-7--1 ) there will be no further development in Portlet Chat.

I need to know what the alternatives are. I've searched the Marketplace and I have not found nothing (did I missed something?).

The goal is for members of a website to be able to talk to each other.

Hi Eunice, 

The code for the chat portlet is still available:
https://github.com/liferay/liferay-portal/tree/7.4.x/modules/apps/archived

You can download it, adapt it and deploy it. It can work for you although it won't be supported.

Anyways, if you have some time, maybe it is worth checking other options.
