RE: Subscribe option disapeared from message boards

I'm creating a custom intranet using Liferay 7.4 CE, and last week I noticed that the option of subscribing to message boards and categories simply disappeared. That is for all users, even for the root one, being that all subscribe permissions are correctly set

Nothing in the logs indicates any error or exception concerning subscriptions. Any help would be much appreciated.

Not sure. Questions (the code that's used here for this very question, labelled "Ask") uses the same backend and provides subscriptions.

Did you try on the latest upgrade, or on an older one?

Ok, so I did the upgrade to version 7.4.3.29 using

However nothing changed, subscribe options are still unavailable even though permissions are correctly set.

 

Any suggestions to further investigate the issue or to do a workaround?

I was able to reproduce this in another portlet (blogs), it is a bug.

Once you deactivate the "Enable RSS Subscription" option in the portlet configurations, the subscribe option disappears forever, even if you turn the option back on.

 

I'll report the bug, can you offer a workaround for this issue?

As I stated in the previous comments, I already did try the solution proposed by Olaf and that didn't fix the issue. I Updated my GA from 7.4.3.4 to 7.4.3.29, 7.4.3.30, 7.4.3.31, 7.4.3.32 and 7.4.3.33 and it didn't fix anything.

I was even able to get a past version where the subscriptions worked in my site, and imported the data from the current version in it, which caused the subscription option to disappear. As I mentioned also, permissions are correct (I checked them several times). No errors are present in the logs of the import process or the application.

I need new feedback on this thread to move on and try to identify the issue. other than the first comment made in this thread I received no community support. I also tried to ask this question in the Slack channel and got no support.
