What is the purpose of log4j.properties file, in Liferay 7.4?
Hi all:
In Liferay 6.2, when a portlet project plugin was created, it was given a log4j.properties file you could overwrite to customize your log traces. Nowadays, in Liferay 7.4, when a Liferay module project is created, two log related log4j properties files can be found within that module:
1) /src/main/resources/log4j.properties
2) /src/main/webapp/META-INF/module-log4j-ext.xml
According to the official Liferay documentation (Adjusting Module Logging), you have to set up module-log4j-ext.xml file. My question is, firstly, what the log4j.properties file is intended for; and secondly, weather it is possible or not keeping on using log4j.properties file to customize the log traces as it used to be for Liferay 6.2.
Thanks.
