According to the Liferay Docs, in order to upgrade the service builder to work with 7.2, it is required to delete some legacy files & folders in the first step. These include the "src/main/resource/META-INF" folder too.  In my case, I have an external database config in the ext-sprint.xml inside the META-INF folder. If I delete these files, where should I include this external database connection settings for the service builder?

sorry i cannot help you, i am facing same problem.

i use 7.4

if you use spring beans, and it's external database, ext-spring.xml should in META-INF/spring/parent/
