Please read this, it explains how to do a backup. It should help you
to understand what's what.

I would advise you to learn how to do a backup in any case!
But in a default installation, if you just want to move everything to
a new host, it could be simpler. You just need to copy the whole
liferay folder to the new location.
If you move everything to the same path on the new host, you are
done. If not, you need to do the following things:
1) Edit portal-setup-wizard.properties (or maybe
portal-ext.properties) and fix the path in there
2) Delete the liferay/osgi/state folder (I would do that anyway, it's
safe to do so)
That should basically be it. But I really advise you to read the
backup help pages.
