RE: How to hide a whole page with subpages?
Sorry if my question seems novice, but I inherited this Liferay site (Liferay Portal 6.1.2 CE - I know the version is old, but that's what I have to use) that I have to manage from now on, and I have only the slightest idea how to use the CMS...I have to delete certain pages that have links in the left menü. Because I'm not sure what I'm doing, I figured I'll make a DELETED_ITEMS page, and I move all the pages I want to delete under it, then hide the whole thing. I managed to hide the DELETED_ITEMS page, and I set the permission so the visitors won't see it. I moved the pages I want to 'delete' under this, but they are not hidden, and their permissions stayed the same...Does this mean I have to set these attributes 1-by-1 for 100+ pages? My other question is I set the permission and the hidden attribute for the first page (lets call it News), but the articles that appeared under this News page still show up...So in the end, the question is how can I delete a page with all subpages and articles under it without deleting it 'physically'?Thanks in advance!

			Hi,
The good idea is to restrict permissions on pages to certain users that you want to avoid to see. Make the pages hidden and in the theme , on show the page if it is not hidden. But permissions setting is important as if some users that have the url of these hidden pages they will be able to see those pages.
Hope it helps.

Thank you for your fast answer.
How can I set the permissions to multiple pages or how to make the permissions inherited? Do I have to do that page-by-page?

Nyikasz Nyikasz:
Yes , you will need to give it page by page.
