Backport, backport, backport.

Replant that tree. Some of us will be stuck on 7.2 which means 7.0 and 7.3 has a feature we won't have.

Backport it

Hey Lee Jordan currently there is no plan to backport this to 7.2. Thanks for your interest.

This is absolute madness. Can it be provided as a marketplace download instead. 7.2 is missing critical functionality for navigating sites as a site admin. We need to be pragmatic about this because not having a navigation menu is unacceptable. What can we do besides using 7.3 (which will delay our upgrade further).

Hey Lee,Our general policy is to not backport features or improvements. We make very few exceptions and it's usually when a release has recently come out. I know you care about Liferay a lot, however I must confess that it's pretty uncomfortable to read comments like this whenever we cannot do what you'd like us to do. I hope you can understand that we need many things to consider when making this type of decisions and we do our best to serve our community and customers.

So we have to skip 7.2? I'll for sure get feedback from users to pass along. Can a marketplace app be created to restore navigation to the product menu or could Liferay at least put out docs on how to include the sitemap portlet in a theme.

I fill in some user experience roles on my team, so I fight for UX and UX is regressing. It's getting harder to use Liferay as a normal user.

So yeah, to take away such an important UX element it's a big problem. As a community we've been fighting to make Miller workable, untill it's finished we need have a tree view in 7.1 and 7.2.

I actually personally don't care either way, I try to see how our users experience your product and this tree view is very important. Too important to be missing. It's not my personal preference but we're about to get a crap tonne of user complaints.

Our current attempt to upgrade from 7.0 BTW is failing on Miller columns. They are just not there and don't work.

I took a look at the functionality. It's very much needed in 7.2 and will help speed things up for site admins a lot.

Please reconsider. This isn't a "new feature", it has been there for 4 years, it was taken away and though I am very happy to see it back, there are two versions that are missing this feature. It's not new functionality.
